About PawBack

It all started with Bennie.
Bennie is a two-year-old Klein Poodle who lives in Düsseldorf with his owners, Fazy and Milad. Like most dog owners, they know the feeling: you let your dog off the leash for a second, your dog spots something interesting, and suddenly you're chasing through the park wondering what would happen if your dog actually got away.
The existing solutions felt wrong. GPS trackers need charging and cost €5-10/month. Engraved tags show your phone number to anyone. Smart tags from big brands lock you into an app ecosystem with recurring fees. None of them respected both the owner's privacy and their wallet.
So Fazy and Milad built PawBack: a tiny QR + NFC tag that costs €9.99 once, hosts a pet profile for free, and never shows the owner's personal information. When a stranger finds your pet, they scan the tag with any phone — no app, no account — and you get notified instantly. Simple as that.
“We just wanted something we'd trust on Bennie's collar. No subscriptions, no surveillance, no nonsense. If it works for him, it works for every pet.”
— Fazy & Milad, founders
Made in Düsseldorf
PawBack is a product of MG Business Lab, based in Düsseldorf, Germany. Every tag is 3D-printed, assembled, and shipped from here. We keep things small on purpose — it means we can care about every detail, from the QR error correction level to the split ring that holds the tag on the collar.
Our principles
- 1.Pay once. No subscriptions, no renewals, no hidden fees. The tag price covers everything.
- 2.Privacy by design. Owner name, email, and address are never shown to anyone. Not even us — Supabase handles the data.
- 3.Zero friction for finders. No app download, no account creation. Scan → see the dog → contact the owner. Under 5 seconds.
- 4.Honest if we fail. If PawBack ever shuts down, we give 6 months notice and full data export. It's in the terms.
